The centre serves north Dublin city and county as well as north Leinster as far as the border with Northern Ireland.
Our service is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team who have the skill, experience and expertise to ensure rapid diagnosis in a manner sensitive to patients’ needs. Consultant Breast Surgeons, Consultant Breast Radiologists and Consultant Breast Pathologists are supported by administrative staff, breast care nurses, radiographers, scientists, medical and radiation oncologists, plastic surgeons, physiotherapists, social workers, data managers and researchers to ensure evidenced based practice which adheres to national guidelines as set by the National Cancer Control Programme.
Currently the Lead Clinician of the service is Dr. Deirdre Duke, Consultant Radiologist.
Most patients visiting the centre do not have breast cancer and every effort is made to provide these with reassurance as quickly as possible. For those patients requiring further intervention/ treatment personalised care pathways are provided following discussion at our weekly multi-disciplinary meeting.
