Admissions & Patient Registration

Admissions and Patient Registration staff are responsible for the following in-patient services

• Processing and registering elective and emergency in-patient admissions
• Validating demographic data for the in-patient master file.
• Collecting financial data and verifying public/private admission status.
• Providing the patient with appropriate documentation for the ward the patient is being admitted to
• Receiving and logging GP referral letters

In relation to out-patient clinics, admissions and registration staff

• Register and provide a healthcare medical chart for a patient who is attending the Hospital OPD service for the first time
• Update patient demographic details for existing patients
