Breast Imaging Unit

The Mammography/Breast Imaging Unit was officially opened by Prof. Tom Keane on 08th May 2009. It is part of a multidisciplinary breast service aiming to provide high quality care in a safe, friendly and confidential environment to symptomatic and asymptomatic patients alike. Beaumont Hospital is one of eight designated cancer centres within Ireland set up by the National Cancer Control Programme.

 Our Breast Unit comprises of two mammography rooms and two breast ultrasound rooms with access to an MRI scanner. There are three consultant radiologists, nine radiographers, two healthcare assistants and two administration staff working within the unit. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 am – 4.15 pm.
