Climbing Kilimanjaro was the cherry on the top - €10k donation to purchase patient monitors in the Neurosurgical Wards (Dec 2016)
Thursday December 22, 2016
In 2008, eighteen year old, Clare Geraghty and her brother Donncha, from Ballindine in Co Mayo were involved in a collision near Claremorris. She and her twin sister had celebrated their eighteenth birthday the week before and while her brother suffered non-life threathening injuries, Clare was in a critical condition. She was rushed to Beaumont Hospital and spent a month in ICU - a month she has no memory of - in the care of neurosurgeon Chris Pidgeon (photographed with Clare). Earlier this year she climbed Kilimanjaro and raised an amazing €10,074 funds for Beaumont and came into us last week to present the proceeds to date to the Foundation. Clare told us that she is so grateful to everyone who contributed to the huge amount collected for Beaumont already and for all their words of support - getting to the top of Kilimanjaro was just the cherry on top!
Congratulations to Clare and massive thanks for her funding raising efforts for patient monitors in the neurosurgical wards.
