The first staff at Beaumont Hospital received their Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine today, Tuesday December 29th. The ten staff members who received their vaccine all care for our patients on a daily basis and have direct patient contact. Those who were vaccinated today were Maria Greene, Virology/Infection Control Co Ordinator; Tyrone Lowndes, Porter; Saturnino Pasco, Staff Nurse; Abinash Bhupalan, NCHD; James Curley, Security; Maria Rosario Mabingnay, Staff Nurse; Carol Cooley, Oncology Admin; Eileen Hannigan, HCA; Laura Durkin, Consultant Rheumatologist; & Eoghan de Barra, Consultant in Infectious Diseases.

A wider rollout will commence tomorrow and Thursday with 480 patients and staff scheduled to be vaccinated. Further Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines will arrive in Beaumont Hospital in the coming days for both our patients and staff.

We would like to acknowledge and thank our peer vaccination, pharmacy and administrative teams, who have worked tirelessly over the Christmas period to ensure the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination programme commenced.
