Beaumont welcomes new Director of Nursing Marie Murray

Marie Murray commenced in the position as Director of Nursing at Beaumont Hospital in early March. Marie started her nurse training in Jervis Street Hospital and qualified as a nurse in Beaumont Hospital in May 1990. Marie was a student nurse on night duty the first night Beaumont Hospital opened in 1987! Following Marie’s training in Beaumont Hospital Marie qualified as a midwife at the Rotunda Hospital and subsequently qualified with a BSc from DCU, and a Masters of Information Technology and Business from NUIG, Galway. Marie has vast experience in all areas of nursing in Ireland and abroad; 10 years in the Rotunda Hospital & 15 years Mater Private. Marie also worked in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and recently had an opportunity to work as a nursing director in Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi from 2015-2018 with the responsibility to lead on the opening of and recruiting nurses for all acute care and critical care wards. On return from the UAE in 2018 Marie worked with the RCSI hospital group and since July 2019 has been working in Connolly Hospital as the Chief Operations Officer. Marie is delighted to be returning to her Alma Mater as the Director of Nursing. Marie is originally from Co. Leitrim but is now living in Dublin with her husband Jerome, and her 3 daughters.
