Occupational Therapy - The Work We Do

- Treatment of motor, sensory, cognitive and perceptual impairments to facilitate optimal functional independence and discharge to home / to the community.
- Specialist equipment prescription and home adaptations to facilitate a supported return home.
- Liaison with and referral to community services where further rehabilitation and / or home adaptation are deemed necessary.
- Provision of specialist out-patient interventions including assessment and treatment of patients experiencing neurological, orthopaedic / plastics and oncology conditions.
- Education on long-term condition management and temporary disability management to optimise independence in daily activities / work and quality of life.
