Dr. Geoghegan is a consultant anaesthetist and intensivist at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, Ireland. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2009 with degrees in Medicine and Neuroscience. After completing Basic Specialist training in general medicine, including a visiting residency in Internal Medicine (Mayo Clinic, USA), he completed anaesthesia/ICU training in Ireland and a Fellowship in Neurosciences and Trauma Critical Care (Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, UK). He holds a master’s degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Research interests include hyponatremia, traumatic brain injury and ARDS.
