Experience
Kevin Cahill is a consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon in Beaumont Hospital, Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
He graduated from University College Dublin and completed his surgical training in Ireland through the Irish Higher Surgical Training Scheme in Plastic Surgery, culminating in the award of his FRCS (Plast). During this time, he also completed an MD degree in cancer research in UCD.
At the end of his training, he completed a fellowship in Complex Wound and Orthoplastic Reconstruction between the world renowned plastic surgery unit in the Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead and the level one trauma unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton with a focus on microvascular lower limb trauma reconstruction.
Kevin returned to Ireland in 2019 to a consultant post in St James’ Hospital, Dublin before moving to his current post in 2021. In addition to his clinical work, he is interested in clinical research and publication, lectures and examines undergraduate students, and is a trainer in both Human Factors in Surgery and Advanced Trauma Life Support through the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He is a full member of the Irish Association of Plastic Surgeons (IAPS) and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).
