Senior Executive Profiles


David Sweeney, Interim CEO

David joined Beaumont Hospital in mid 2018 as Dierctor of HR and has a strong knowledge of health services management with close to 30 yeras experience in the health sector with a particular interest in promoting staff engagement and development.

David has lead a team of highly skilled HR professionals who promote and support the personal development of staff, our key resource, and promotes a working environment conducive to positive employee relations through effective and innovative best practice HR policies .

David took up the role of Interim CEO in June 2023

Mark Graham, Director of ICT

Mark  joined Beaumont in 1990, and spent the first few years working in Medical Records.  In 1998 he joined the IT Department as a Computer Operator and over the years lead the service desk and incident management team and laterly was the driving force for the virtualisation project. Prior to his appointment as ICT Director on February 2014, his most recent role was as Computer Operations Manager. 

Mark is an enthusiastic, self motivated individual who sets high standards. He has the ability to motivate others, has proven leadership abilities within the IT Department coupled with extensive experience and understanding of the importance of ICT in health and in particular to the business of Beaumont.

From Dublin, Mark lives Portmarnock, is married to Emer and they have five children.

Niamh Lynch, Interim Director of Finance & Procurement

Niamh was appointed to the position of Interim Director of Finance & Procurement in July 2023. Niamh is an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Institute in the Royal College of Surgeon where she completed a MSC in Leadership.

Niamh joined Beaumont hospital in 2007. She was seconded to the RCSI Hospitals Group in 2014 as the ABF accountant and returned to Beaumont as the Deputy Director of Finance & Procurement in 2017. During this time she has introduced devolved budgets, automating returns in payroll, online payslips etc

Niamh remit includes responsibility for Management Accounts, Payroll, Creditors, Patient Accounts, Supplies & Procurement, HIPE and Trauma Co-ordinators.

Dorothy Costello, Interim General Services Manager

Dorothy commenced employment in Beaumont in 1988 working in various clerical / administration roles in the Human Resources, Computer Operations and Finance Departments before taking up the role of Insurance / Risk Manager in 2001.  In 2006 Dorothy moved to operational roles in General Services and in January 2024 Dorothy took up the position of interim General Services Manager.  Dorothy is proud to lead a staff of just under 400 exceptional people, across a wide range of  services, including;  Admissions and Registration, Catering, Cleaning, Chaplaincy, Car Parks, Healthcare Records, Laundry, Switchboard, Portering, Security, Printing, Transport, Waste Management, all of whom support our clinical staff on a daily basis to deliver a quality service to patients, staff and visitors, and are the cornerstone of the service provided.

Ensuring services are dynamic, and change to meet our patients needs is always the focus. The service also manages a large range of contracts with approximately  200 contractors on site in the areas of Cleaning and Laundry.

Helen Ryan, Interim Head Quality & Patient Safety

Helen began her nursing career in St James’s Hospital, Dublin, qualifying in 1989. Following this she worked in London and Australia before moving back to Ireland and working as an Endoscopy Nurse for a number of years in St James’s Hospital. Helen moved to Beaumont Hospital in 1999 to take up the position of Clinical Nurse Manager 2 in the Stephan Doyle Endoscopy Unit. 

In 2009, she took up the newly appointed role of Clinical Governance/Audit Manager and with the Chair of Clinical Governance worked in collaboration with medical and nursing colleagues to set up structures to promote, drive and support clinical governance in the hospital.  In 2016, Helen was appointed to the role of Quality & Standards Manager with responsibility for advising, supporting, leading and driving quality and quality improvement in patient care. 

 In August 2023, Helen took up the role of Interim Head of Quality & Patient Safety.
