The service is delivered by appropriate members of the multidisciplinary team, using a consultation-liaison model. In the consultation model referrals are received from hospital doctors. In the liaison model the mental health professional becomes part of an existing hospital team e.g specialist hepatology or oncology services. The team generally provide this service to all areas of the Hospital but have particularly close links with some departments such as:
- Emergency Department
- Neuroscience Division
- Department of Medical Oncology
- Gastroenterology/Hepatology
