Education and Teaching

The Department is involved in undergraduate and post-graduate teaching, principally of students attending the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Significant educational development has taken place recently including:

  1. Development of new Geriatric & Stroke Medicine teaching programme for medical students attending RCSI medical school (developed in 2010).

  2. Introduction of a core teaching module in Geriatric & Stroke Medicine was for RCSI intermediate cycle students (2011).

  3. Appointment of a Clinical Lecturer in Geriatric & Stroke Medicine in 2010.

  4. The opening of an Education Centre for RCSI medical students at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Raheny.
