Social Work Supports
People living with breast cancer or a new diagnosis of cancer can be referred to the Social Work Service. A diagnosis of cancer can result in major life adjustments for both you and your family. In these circumstances, social workers can help you to identify solutions that will help you and your family deal with your diagnosis and any problems that may arise as a result. We provide a range of services to breast care patients.
- Emotional support,
- Financial and welfare planning during a time of diagnosis and treatment,
- Advice when talking to children about a new diagnosis
- Planning for your discharge from hospital and setting up support services in the community.
If you want to avail of the Social Work Service you can talk to your Breast Care Nurse and they will make the referral or you can contact Social Work directly by contacting us at 01 8093290-01 8092589.
