Molecular Pathology
The Molecular Pathology Department at Beaumont Hospital is a multidisciplinary department within the directorate of laboratory medicine.
Along with providing a service to the hospital, the department provides a nationally funded molecular pathology service for cancer testing and is the national referral centre for adult and pediatric neuro-oncology molecular testing.
Extensive research is carried out within the department. It holds strong research links with several institutions including RCSI, St. James Hospital, Trinity College Dublin, UCD, DCU and TUD.
The consultant staff are involved in a range of National and International academic working groups and other medical organisations.

Routine hours
Monday – Friday 08:00 to 17:00
Please note: There is no routine Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holiday service.
Due to the nature of testing within Molecular Pathology, the department does not provide any out-of-hours emergency service. Emergency/urgent tests requests will be dealt with on a patient-by-patient basis in consultation with both Scientific and Clinical Consultant staff of the department and the requesting Clinician.
