Department of Colorectal Surgery


Welcome to the Beaumont Hospital Department of Colorectal Surgery.  Our area of specialist surgical practice encompasses treatment of benign and malignant colorectal disease, specifically colorectal cancer, coloproctology and pelvic floor dysfunction. Beaumont Hospital is a national referral centre for the treatment of colon and rectal cancer.  We are part of the R.C.S.I. Hospitals Group and have close links with both Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.   Within the department there are specialist Colorectal, Cancer and Stoma Nurses.

The Colorectal clinics are located in clinic D in the main outpatient department in Beaumont Hospital.

  • Mr. John Burke's clinic runs Wednesday mornings 8.30am to 11.00am
  • Prof. Deborah Mc Namara's clinic runs Tuesday afternoons 1.30pm to 5pm.
  • Ms. Niamh McCawley's clinic runs Friday mornings 8.30am to 12md


We accept consultant and GP referrals to our outpatient clinics upon receipt of a referral letter to the relevant consultant or by email (preferred) as below
