Infectious Disease service
The Infectious Disease multidisciplinary team provides confidential consultation, advice, diagnosis and treatment for ill people who may have an infectious illness. This service has been in place since 1993. There is a unique special focus on travellers who may have contracted illness while out of Ireland. Several people with malaria are treated each year. The service provides care for hundreds of people with HIV infection, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Tuberculosis. There is a compliment of inpatient beds for those who require admission to hospital. A hospital Consultant or GP may refer a patient to the service.
Referrals/Contact Us
The email address below is for referrals to the Infectious Disease Service where HealthLinks cannot be used. We encourage all referrals to come through HealthLink as this is the safest and most appropriate method however as some GP practices do not have access to Healthlink the email addresses below will be an alternative method of referral.
