About Our Ward
St. Finbar's day ward is a surgical unit where patients are admitted for planned surgical procedures. They are then discharged home on the same day. The ward consists of a room with 20 trolleys, a room with 2 trolleys and a minor area that has 8 chairs. The day ward admits patients going to both the main and minor theatres. Patients admitted either have a general anaesthetic, sedation or a local anaesthetic. Our aim is to deliver the highest quality of care to all our patients. See our General List of Procedures.
Location
St. Finbar's day ward is located on the ground floor. Upon entering the main door of the hospital, proceed down the main corridor and follow the signs for the lifts. St. Finbar's day ward is located jsut past the lifts on the left side (opposite Corrigan Ward).
On arrival to St. Finbars day ward, please proceed to the end of the ward and check-in at the reception desk. Look for the sign for reception. (Further check in information).
Hours
St. Finbars day ward is open from 7.30 until 20.00.
Visiting
As there is no waiting room, relatives or friends are not allowed to wait for you on the ward while you are having your procedure done. Therefore, it is best that you phone your relative or friend to collect you once you have been discharged.
