St. Joseph's Hospital Campus - Rehabilitation Unit
About the Unit
Health Care Professionals working in this service provide treatment to any patients over 65, under the care of a Consultant Geriatrician and admitted to the rehabilitation unit. Patients are seen on an in-patient basis only. The members of the inter-disciplinary team work closely together in the provision of a person-centred, goal orientated rehabilitation service.
The aim of the Rehabilitation Unit is to enable the person getting back to their previous level of function or to adapt and find new ways of performing things while facilitating independence and quality of life.
The team working with the patient includes medical staff, nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, medical social workers, dieticians, healthcare and rehabilitation assistants, ward secretary and housekeeping staff.
