PHLEBOTOMY (BLOOD TESTING)

What can I expect when I come for my blood testing appointment?

We have changed the way blood testing services are delivered and the following safety measures have been put in place for patients who need to attend the outpatient Phlebotomy (blood testing) Department.

Please note that all blood tests requested by your GP will take place in St Joseph's Hospital Raheny.

  • Phlebotomy no longer offers a walk-in service. You must book your appointment via www.swiftqueue.ie or by calling 01 291 0993 between 8am and 4pm.
  • The booking system allows for reduced waiting times and allows patients to maintain safe social distancing.
  • Patients are being asked to attend no more than 5 minutes before their scheduled appointment time, to ensure safe physical and social distancing and to avoid over-crowding.
  • Staff will be on hand to guide and help you and we ask that you please adhere to their instructions and follow the floor markings through the hospital.
  • Unless you need assistance, please do not bring anyone with you to your appointment. Children are not permitted to attend.
  • Facemasks are still required to be worn by all patients and for those who may have to accompany them.
  • For patients who arrive without a prior appointment we will attempt to accommodate you on the same day, however if there is not immediate availability you will be asked to leave the area and return 5 mins prior to your appointment.
  • Please continue to avail of the hand sanitisers provided

Please see HERE For more information on the Phlebotomy Department

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this time.
