Clinical Audit & Clinical Governance

About

The Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance Department has 4 distinct roles in the hospital;

1. Clinical Governance – seeking assurance that all areas provide quality, safe and effective care to patients under the care of Beaumont Hospital, both in-patient and out-patient.
2. Clinical Effectiveness – review metrics provided from Directorates / Departments to demonstrate the effectiveness of clinical practice and service delivery with the aim of driving improvement as required.
3. Clinical Audit – support Directorates / Departments in the audit process. The department reviews audit results from both National and local audits in the interest of patient care and improvement.
4. Open Disclosure – ensuring a culture of open disclosure incorporating the Patient Safety Act 2023 through the provision of education and awareness to staff and working collectively with Risk & Legal and PALS departments in providing clear communication to patients.
