Beaumont is a public hospital which means there are no charges for public inpatient or day care services for Irish Residents. There are charges if you are a non EU resident and you can see these charges below,
If you attend the emergency department (ED) of a public hospital without a referral letter from a GP or family doctor you will need to pay a hospital charge of €100. Please make sure you bring the letter from the GP with you if you have visited the practice beforehand. Sometimes the GP will phone ahead to let us know that they are sending you into us.
Medical card holders and certain other groups do not have to pay ED hospital charges (please provide your medical card details when you are registering in ED).
If you are admitted to the hospital from the emergency department, the €100 charge will not apply.
• Non-EU residents - €446.82 • Non-EU return visit - €111.65
There are no fees on presentation of an EHIC/GHIC card. If you do not have this card in your possession at the time you present to ED, you will be charged the non-EU rate.
If you are ordinarily resident in Ireland (have lived here for a year or more) you are entitled to access all health services if you are a medical card holder. If you don’t have a medical card you are entitled to limited services. You can get more information on your healthcare eligibility and what you are entitled to free of charge by visiting Citizens Information
