The podiatry department, provides care, treatment and management for patients with diabetes-related foot problems. We manage patients who are in hospital, have been in hospital or need outpatient care for conditions such as:
The Podiatry Department uses evidence based care and management, with aims to reduce; avoidable amputations, length of stay and optimise resource allocation through a multidisciplinary team approach. The podiatry department’s clinical governance is provided by Endocrinologist/Diabetologist and closely liaises with vascular, orthopaedics, infectious diseases, dialysis and orthotics and public health nurses. The Podiatry Department’s vision is to reduce avoidable amputations and improve the care of the people in North Dublin and our catchment areas.
