Elmarie is a strategic leader with 15 years’ experience in the financial sector, 10 years in biopharma/FCMG and 10 years as an entrepreneur in commercialisation, product innovation and business development of start-ups. She has extensive experience in risk management, IT transformation and large change management projects.

She is currently practicing as a management consultant specialising in performance improvement in the fields of regulatory compliance, financial risk management, mitigation and operational control environments. Previously, she was a Director at Standard Bank responsible for risk management, IT strategy and operations across 17 countries. As Director at Finastra she was responsible for professional services around the treasury and risk management systems. She is also the founder of 4 companies, and she is a published authority with 15 publications to her name. Her most recent publications were on the impact of COVID on credit risk and a training course on an aspect of prudential risk management.
