Chaplaincy has a very important role to play in the life of the hospital. The chaplaincy department operates on an interdenominational basis and is staffed accordingly. The department provides an invaluable multi-denominational pastoral service to our patients, relatives and staff. Our Chaplains care for the spiritual needs of patients, families and staff. We have a number of chaplains and can also contact leaders of a number of faiths if requested. We have a lovely peaceful Chapel where Mass and Holy Communion are offered, and a Mosque for the use of staff and students.
A Roman Catholic chaplain is on site on a 24 hour basis and we have Chaplains from many other faiths attend the hospital as required to include Church of Ireland, Church of England, Episcopalian Church of Scotland, Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church, Church of Scotland.
The interdenominational ministry provides a professional care service carried on by professionals both ordained and lay, qualified in theology and in clinical pastoral education accredited by the health care hospital chaplaincy board. Patients and staff are encouraged to contact our chaplaincy department who can contact outside leaders of other faiths not mentioned above.
The Hospital Chapel is inter-denominational. This means that patients of all faiths are very welcome to visit. The Chapel is open 24 hours a day and people are welcome to visit for quite reflection. Mass & Holy Communion is celebrated at the following times in Beaumont Hospital. Holy Communion is brought to patients on the wards who are not able to attend Mass
