Beaumont-RCSI Hospital’s Respiratory Department is internationally recognised for its leadership in clinical care, education, training, advocacy and research. Our main priority is to deliver excellent multidisciplinary care across the spectrum of respiratory medicine.
As a national leader in clinical care and translational research, the department has hosted several novel clinical developments and pioneered the use of digital health technologies to support patients with respiratory disease.
Expert subspecialty clinics include lung cancer, pleural disease, pulmonary nodule surveillance, severe asthma, severe COPD, alpha-1 anti-trypsin deficiency(A1AT), bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, genetic lung disease, interstitial lung disease, sleep and non-invasive ventilation.

We have an active basic science and clinical research division. Studies are ongoing in pulmonary fibrosis/ILD, A1AT, asthma, COPD, lung cancer, bronchiectasis and pleural disease.
We accept referrals from both primary and secondary care physicians, and from the respiratory integrated care specialist hub. Referrals can be made via healthlink, email (respiratoryadmin@beaumont.ie) or post. Rapid access lung cancer clinic referrals should be made directly to the rapid access service via healthlink.
