The Department of Neurology provides both a general neurology outpatient service as well as providing specialist care in epilepsy, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Migraine/headache, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), movement disorders and cognitive decline.

Clinical Neurophysiology (CN) is a consultant led clinical and diagnostic specialty used in the investigation and management of patients with peripheral (muscle and nerve) and central (epilepsy, dementia, disorders). Investigations include nerve conduction studies (NCS) and electromyography (EMG), electroencephalography (EEG), evoked potentials (EPs). Specialised investigations including intraoperative monitoring (IOM), inpatient video EEG and ICU monitoring are now accepted international standards of care.

Thomas Drew is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist at the Rotunda and Beaumont Hospitals, Dublin and an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences. He has completed fellowships in Obstetric Anaesthesia and Intensive medicine in Toronto, Canada and London, UK. He has clinical and research interests in obstetric haemorrhage and airway management.
