National Poisons Information Centre welcomes clinical toxicologists from Central Asia.

The National Poisons Information Centre (NPIC) recently hosted a delegation of international Clinical Toxicologists from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and the United Kingdom. They were visiting Ireland as part of European Union Project 87 entitled "Preparedness and Response to Mass Gatherings and Other Health Threats in Central Asia." The project is funded by the European Union and is being implemented by the International Science and Technology Centre (ISTC), headquartered in Astana, Kazakhstan.

  • Foot ulcerations

The Hepatology Unit provides care and treatment to patients with gastroenterology and liver diseases and provides a comprehensive integrated service for the treatment of all forms of liver disease and operates a patient centred approach through multidisciplinary team care.

Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is a comprehensive programme offered to patients following a cardiac event such as a heart attack, cardiac surgery or stenting.  CR helps patients with heart disease recover faster, live longer and have fewer complications after a cardiac event. Through a combination of exercise, education and psychological support, patients are supported to play an active role in regaining their quality of life and protecting their future health.

Intensive Care Units (ICU North and ICU South)

Intensive care units (ICUs) are specialist hospital wards that provide treatment and monitoring for people who are very ill. They're staffed with specially trained healthcare professionals and contain sophisticated monitoring equipment.  Our critical care department consists of two intensive care units that comprised of 20 critical care beds, named ICU North and ICU South.  Both units are situated on lower ground floor of the hospital.
