The Immunology Department provides Clinical and Laboratory Services. We are keen to assist with the development of guidelines for investigation of potential immunological disorders, clinical audit and educational activities. The laboratory provides a large range of investigations for autoimmune and allergic disorders. The repertoire of investigations for possible immunodeficiency is being developed and expanded.

Beaumont Hospital is the National Centre for Renal Transplantation.  

The Department of Transplantation, Urology and Nephrology (TUN) at Beaumont Hospital has its origins from Jervis Street Hospital, with the acquisition of its first haemodialysis machine in 1958. Since those early days, dialysis and transplant medicine has grown rapidly in Ireland and the “Renal Unit” at Beaumont Hospital remains the largest provider of renal replacement therapy in the country.

Anticoagulants such as Warfarin are “blood-thinning” medications which are usually prescribed to prevent blood clots such as stroke, deep venous thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE).

Vascular surgery is a surgical subspecialty which diagnoses and treats diseases affecting the vascular system, such as arteries, veins and circulation.  These conditions are managed by medical therapy, minimally-invasive catheter procedures and surgical reconstruction. 

The Stomacare Department is an integral part of the Department of Colorectal Surgery.  The term "stoma" refers to an artificial opening created surgically for patients to allow their urine or faeces to leave their body by a new route. Two full-time Stomacare Nurses provide care for patients with stomas and wound problems.

Homecare is a type of care which allows people aged over 65 to receive care in the comfort of their own home. Beaumont Care in the Home Service was established in April 2022 as a result of high volume of patients awaiting home care packages to facilitate their discharge from Hospital. This service was developed to:

• Provide safe and supported timely discharge for patients.
• Reduce length of stay for patients awaiting Health Service Executive Home Care Agencies.
• Reduce the use of transitional (nursing home) care for patients.
