The neurology service provides inpatient and outpatient services. The inpatient service provides management for a wide variety of neurological conditions admitted under the care of our consultant neurologists.
The outpatient service includes attendance at multidisciplinary motor neuron disease, multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease clinics. We also provide a monthly botulinum toxin clinic aimed at reducing symptoms for patients presenting with spasticity.
Vestibular assessment and rehabilitation is provided via advanced practice physiotherapists present in ENT clinics. Other patients with complex neurological conditions are seen in the general outpatient clinic after referral by our neurology consultant.
Our dedicated stroke service provides compassionate care for patients admitted with a stroke. Our stroke team collaborates strongly with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimum patient care is provided. Our Stroke Early Supported Discharge team assists with the transition from the acute hospital setting to home, where appropriate. This involves follow up rehabilitation in the home for a defined period of time after discharge.
