Health Promotion is about promoting healthy lifestyle behaviours that positively influence both patient and staff wellbeing. The aim is to foster a greater balance between illness prevention and curative services through promoting healthy lifestyle choices. In doing so, the service encourages people to take an active role in their own health.

The Quality and Standards Department supports a systemic approach to the delivery of safe, effective and person centred care in the hospital. The department works with all hospital directorates and departments to achieve compliance with healthcare standards, clinical guidelines, policies and procedures. The aim is to continually improve the way we deliver care and enhance the environment in which our staff work.

The Health and Safety department as a function of the Quality and Safety Directorate provides appropriate and effective support to facilitate the hospital's attainment of its core objective of safe patient care whilst preserving the highest quality of health and safety practices across the hospital's wide spectrum of activities.

The National Neuroscience Centre in Beaumont Hospital oversees the delivery of medical, nursing and allied healthcare, across the field of neurosciences and its supporting disciplines.

Epilepsy is a neurological condition which is treated by consultant neurologists who specialise in epilepsy and their teams. Beaumont is one of the referring hospitals under the National Clinical Programme for Epilepsy.

The Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery in Beaumont Hospital is a mix of subspecialty ENT interests including lateral and anterior skull base surgery, rhinology, cochlear implant, facial plastic and head and neck cancer surgery and is the largest single provider of otolaryngology surgical primary procedures in the country. Patients are also managed via clinical pathways including vestibular physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, audiology, tonsillectomy and epistaxis pathways.

The Risk & Legal Department aims is to ensure that the hospital operates in compliance with relevant statutory legislation, clinical guidelines, policies and procedures, and best practice standards in the delivery of safe, effective and person centred care.

The Raheny Community Nursing Unit (RCNU) is a 100 bedded residential unit for long term elderly residents which is located on the St Joseph’s Hospital campus. Residents are cared for in an open, welcoming and safe environment, where respect and dignity for residents, family members and staff are valued principles. The RCNU is a nurse led unit which is supported by a consultant geriatrician, medical, rehabilitation staff and activities teams.
